Thought Leader Select and Empowered Patient Engagement Merge with Clear Point Health

April 4, 2024 (RALEIGH, NC) Three organizations on the leading edge of understanding relationships and optimizing engagement among life sciences companies, health care professionals, and patients are proud to announce their merger. Thought Leader Select, a North Carolina company focused on driving engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and Empowered Patient Engagement, an Illinois firm specializing in patient engagement strategies, are coming together with North Carolina-based Clear Point Health, a worldwide leader in helping life sciences with voice-of-customer research and defining medical journeys with HCPs.

The three organizations move forward as the new Clear Point Health, featuring the unified Omni CX family of services for promoting more effective industry collaborations with the medical community in pursuit of better patient outcomes. Laura Nufire, Co-founder of Empowered Patient Engagement, takes over as the privately-held firm’s Chief Executive Officer. Laura Muttini, Co-founder of Empowered Patient Engagement, assumes the role of Chief Operating Officer. Thought Leader Select and Clear Point Health founder Paul Meade remains part of the new company’s executive management team as Head of Business Development.

The new firm operates from a Raleigh, North Carolina headquarters, with team members based in North Carolina, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.

Together, the three organizations have served pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device manufacturers with services ranging from identification and profiling of key opinion leaders (KOLs), digital opinion leaders (DOLs), and centers of excellence to voice-of-customer research applications including patient flow mapping and journey/care pathway mapping, along with patient education and engagement programming. In addition, the legacy companies have pioneered services centered on measuring KOL sentiment and assessments of their relationships with industry personnel such as medical science liaisons.

The new Clear Point Health has a worldwide reach, with a client roster spanning more than 75 multinational firms representing many of the largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and has been serving its clients for 20 years.

“We are proud of the legacy of each of our three organizations and what our merger means for patients and those who serve them as care providers and developers of life-changing and life-saving products,” said Nufire, a veteran patient educator and clinical trial manager.

Muttini, also a veteran patient educator and registered pharmacist, shares Nufire’s excitement: “We believe that our Omni CX services can help our clients see the future of healthcare and make it happen, by developing unparalleled understanding of what it means to work with healthcare professionals, provider institutions, and patients.”

In a career spanning more than four decades working in the service of the pharmaceutical industry, Meade sees the merger as a chance to promote innovation at a faster pace. “The march of medicine never stops, and those who innovate are the ones who build companies and leave legacies. Our team is aligned in a mission to add real impact for our industry partners.”
